Taal Vishwa

Founded in 1938 by the legendary Tabla Maestro Late Ustad Mehboob Khan, the institute started with the traditional graceful system of tutelage, with one-to-one lessons catered to the needs of individual students. Since then it has grown into a full fledged institution, imbiding ancient teaching methods, yet expanding to reach out to more yearning students. Today the institute has an enrolment of roughly 50 students and more than 500 students have passed through this institute. The institute prepares students to excel in various national level exams set by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Several foreign students have also been taught and have graduated from this institute. Many students of this institute have taken Tabla playing and performing as their profession. They are frequently giving their performances and presenting their art world over.

Since 1996, the institute has spread its wings into Singapore, Malaysia and Australia with an active collaboration with "Temple Of Fine Arts International" and the same traditional teachings are now being carried out at these international centers by the disciples of Ustad Mehboob Khan Mirajkar Institute of Tabla.

The institute strives to create a firm base for all those yearning to learn the art of Tabla playing, and provide an open platform for performers who are seeking to explore and discover new frontiers in the unending realm of rhythm and music
